Bamboo was founded by Robert Rigg in 2009. Having first started work in Asia in 1993, Bamboo's pan-Asian vision and values come from nearly two decades involvement in the region, living first in Hong Kong, and for the last 10 years in Singapore.

OUR THREE PRINCIPLE AREAS OF BUSINESS ARE:

  • Having spent 2007/8 as a licencee of an off-the-shelf European team-building product, founding Bamboo gave us the unique opportunity to re-design a product more relevant for the Asian market. Having canvassed a number of Clients, it became clear that, while elements of the original event had value, companies in the region were looking for something that was more focused on developing key business competencies, and helping take these lessons learnt back to the work-place.

    These developments have included a negotiations-skills game designed in conjunction with a senior lecturer at INSEAD, the leading European Business School, pre-event on-line psychometric evaluation, and follow-up post event facilitated de-brief sessions.

    We have also significantly increased the networking opportunities for participants in our events, going so far as to split teams up for individual stages and form new 'collaborative' teams made up of representatives from different companies.

    While the majority of our Clients have their first exposure to Bamboo's events via the HK Challenge, many take elements and modules from the HK Challenge to create bespoke in-house staff development programmes.

    All our programmes can vary in length, and physical and mental intensity, in 2011 we ran the following:

  • HK Challenge:

    A multi-company, 3 day-2 night strategic, physical and mental challenge brining together the cream of Hong Kong's top companies. The event has been staged 7 times since 2007.


    China Light and Power, Hong Kong:

    A 6 month employee engagement programme training staff in China, India, and Hong Kong, and bringing them together for the 3 day CLP Group Challenge in Hong Kong.


    Nomura International, Hong Kong:

    A 2 day programme bringing together negotiations skills training and outdoor learnings for a group of 50 Managing Directors from across the Asia-Pacific region.


    Barclays Capital, Bintan, Indonesia:

    An intense 3 part, 4 hour, event built into an existing off-site for 125 staff, with the unique twist of having the 25 most junior staff play the role of team captains.

  • Following on from the huge success of the Bamboo designed and managed corporate hospitality suites at F1 Rocks Singapore in 2009, we will shortly be announcing another similar event taking place in both Singapore and Macau in July 2012.

  • The history of 3D sports signage in Asia started with the 1998 Hong Kong Rugby 7s. Since then, use of the product has grown dramatically, and 3D signs are now used in sports as diverse as rugby, cricket, table tennis and basketball.

    As a 50% stake holder in LogoPaint Asia, a joint venture with LogoPaint A/S of Denmark, we operate in Japan, Korea, China, Hong Kong and Singapore with sponsors such as VW, Cathay Pacific, Standard Chartered, HSBC, DHL and Credit Suisse.
